In honor of their founding year, 1978, YWRC is throwing it back to celebrate the kick-off the 40th Anniversary Event Series with our Roller Disco party!
Tickets are $15 in advance/$20 at the door and include skate rental, complimentary beer from Exile Brewing Co., music by DJ Ramona Muse Lambert, the DICE game, costume contest and more. Guests can also participate in live screen printing with your TSG Crew and a photo booth with Nicole Lorenson of Preservation. In-line skates/roller blades and additional concessions will be available for purchase.
Costume Contests: Louise Noun look-a-like and 1970s/Disco Champion
To help celebrate our founding, guests are encouraged to take a step back in time and participate in either the Louise Noun look-alike or 1970s/Disco Champion costume contests.
Louise Noun, along with her contemporaries, led the charge in creating the YWRC in 1978. Louise was a critical player in the development of many organizations throughout Des Moines and serves as a role model to the YWRC staff, board and clients. Staff often ask each other, 'What would Louise Do', and are looking forward to this fun way of honoring her legacy.
Technicolor more your thing? Show us your best 1970s/Disco inspired attire. Think tall socks, bright colors, metallics...the works.
BONUS: Atomic Garage is giving 20% off any rental or purchase with mention of the YWRC so you can fulfill your costume dreams.
1st and 2nd place winners will be announced for each category and receive prizes from Big Tomato Pizza and Preservation.
